It causes some annoyance in that you have to remember to bring Blood with you on missions, but actually look at the stat modifiers from the Curse. A Cursed character in the Passive state has +1 speed, -10% hp, -5% resists. That's hardly a 'soft killed' character.

Two courtyard runs in and I already had 6 cursed characters, and the courtyard mobs are present in every other dungeon too, so there's no getting away from it. It's not about the difficulty at all, but rather how this curse seems to overshadow every other aspect of the game for me.

Bringing multiple cursed heroes to a dungeon can get you attacked by a roaming boss who drops individual cures. Killing the final Crimson Court boss allows you to cure it in the Sanitarium.
