The basement walls are actually a wood/ foam panel construction. 8" thick with studs every 12" and a high density foam between then sandwiched with plywood both sides. The safe room however is all concrete. WebLocate an appropriate place in your basement to build the storm shelter. It's best to choose a corner. You can make your storm shelter any size. Excavate one inch (2.5 centimeters) down over the area of the shelter. Mix the concrete. Pour it into the hole and let it dry. If your basement has a concrete floor you can skip this step.
